Overview

Mainfreight has a siding in Burbush, Hamilton, that has set pull and placement times for wagons. To capture these movements in the system for DiFOT (delivery full on time) purposes, there are shunt profiles set up at pull and place times that bookings must be manually scheduled to in CTMS.

When bookings are created ex or to Burbush – these must be checked and shunt profile must be added by the Mainfreight desk. 

Details

Mainfreight is our only customer that loads out of Burbush (Siding code: WKBMF - F/P: 26VZ2P). They will either create bookings through the portal or request for bookings to be created by the Domestic team on their behalf. 

DiFOT measures Kiwirail’s performance of the customer receiving the order within the estimated delivery timeframe. 

The new profiles should allow more accurate DiFOT data to be recorded.

  • W30J: HAM-BRBSH 8 wagons IAB/GXT operates Tu-Sa connecting M30J (M30J Mon = light loco) (this is the supply for evening pull connecting 221 and placement of wagons ex 225) – 10:15 M-Sa
  • W30K: BRBSH-HAM 2 wagons IAB/GXT operates Mo-Fr connecting M30K connecting W229 Tu-Fr / 243 Sat for CHCH – 10:15 M-Sa
  • W30N: HAM-BRBSH 2 wagons IAB/GXT operates Mo-Fr connecting M30N (supply for next day morning pull connecting 229 Tu-Fr / 243 Sat and placement of wagons ex 234) - 20:00 M-F
  • W30P: BRBSH-HAM 8 wagons IAB/GXT operates Mo-Fr connecting M30P pull connecting WM11/WJ11 for WGTN/PNTH - 20:00 M-F 

Process/Tasks 

Scheduling Shunts into Bookings

  1. When scheduling bookings to or from the Burbush siding ensure these are scheduled to the shunts. 

    1. W30K connects to W229/WM29/W243 

    2. W30P connects to WM11/WJ11

    3. WH25 connects to W30J

    4. WX34 /SW34/WS40 connects to W30N 

 

0850 M-F – Schedule Shunt CHCH bookings ex BRBSH

In CTMS search 26VZ2P into the Any Party Code section and input WM29/W229 (today’s date) & FRI: input W234 (SAT date) and search. Open bookings and check if W30K is scheduled. IF NOT schedule W30K before cuts off 

1800 M-F – Schedule shunt for bookings to BRBSH

In CTMS input 26VZ2P into the Any Party Code section and input WH25/W25S (tomorrow’s date) and search. Open today’s bookings and ensure W30J is scheduled. 

NEXT search 26VZ2P into the Any Party Code section and input W736/WF36/WS36/SX12 (tomorrow’s date). Open bookings and ensure W30N is scheduled. 

1900 M-F – Schedule shunt to evening bookings ex BRBSH

In CTMS input 26VZ2P into the Any Party Code section and input WM21/WJ21 (today’s date) & FRI: input W225 (SAT date). Open today’s bookings and check if W30P is scheduled. IF NOT schedule W30P before cuts off
